Advocate for Childcare and Housing Legislative Initiatives

The Iowa House and Senate have passed several budgets and are continuing to work on others - indicating that the legislature is nearing session adjournment.

ICUL and credit union advocates are continuing to support bills addressing affordable childcare and housing.

Support the HF 302 bill (addressing the childcare cliff and removing barriers for families accessing affordable childcare) as it heads to the Senate floor for a vote. Email your Senator and learn more about affordable childcare here.

U.S. Supreme Court Narrows Definition of Automatic Telephone Dialing System

On April 1, 2021, the United States Supreme Court, in Facebook, Inc. v. Duguid et al., handed down a unanimous decision on what qualifies as an automatic telephone dialing system (ATDS) under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) under the TCPA.

ICUL VP Jaimie Miller Graduates from NCUF Virtual DE Program

Forty-eight credit union industry leaders, including ICUL Vice President Jaimie Miller, recently completed the National Credit Union Foundation's (NCUF) Credit Union Development Education (DE) Training.

The virtual training was held March 15-April 9, and educated on the credit union difference, development issues, empathy and how credit unions can leverage their cooperative structures to help members and communities overcome financial and developmental issues.
