Our Team

Our team works to ensure that members of the Iowa Credit Union League receive the greatest value for their dues investment. They lead initiatives that foster collaboration between credit unions and ensure access to resources and educational opportunities that help credit unions in Iowa continue to thrive.

 Murray Williams, President & CEO

Murray Williams photoMurray Williams serves as the President & CEO of the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL). He also serves as board chairman and CEO of Affiliates Management Company (AMC). In these roles, Murray provides strategic leadership and governance oversight for AMC's family of companies, board and executive teams. Murray has been with AMC/ICUL since 1996. He earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation through the American Society of Association Executives and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive Program. Murray also received his MBA and BA with honors from Iowa State University.

Murray serves on the SHAZAM board and has served on the CUNA Strategic Services board along with other industry leadership roles. He has been inducted into the International Executive Volunteer Corps for the World Council of Credit Unions and is a recipient of the Leadership and Support Award by the Network of Latino Credit Unions and Professionals.

 Travis Schipper, Chief Financial Officer
Travis SchipperTravis Schipper is the Chief Financial Officer of the Iowa Credit Union League and Affiliates Management Company (AMC), the holding company for the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL), where he oversees the financial management of ICUL, AMC and the AMC family of companies. Prior to joining ICUL/AMC in December 2021, Travis held positions as SVP Finance at CO-OP Financial Services, VP of Finance for the executive office of Kum & Go, VP of Finance in consumer lending at Wells Fargo, and also has past experience as a small business owner in Central Iowa. Travis holds a degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and an MBA in finance and strategic management from the University of Minnesota (Carlson School).
 
 
 Matt Oakley, Chief Operating Officer
Matt Oakley HeadshotMatt Oakley is the Chief Operating Officer of the Iowa Credit Union League and Affiliates Management Company (AMC), the holding company for the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL). He is tasked with providing leadership and strategic guidance for the ongoing development and growth of ICUL and AMC companies. Prior to this role, Matt was Chief Marketing Officer for AMC. He has also served in past roles as CMO for B2E Data, Inc., CMO for TMG Financial Services, and led marketing teams at Kreg Tool and Marsh. Matt holds a Master's Degree from Webster University and a Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State College.
 Jaimie Miller, Vice President
Jaimie Miller photoJaimie Miller serves as the Vice President of the Iowa Credit Union League where she oversees the ICUL member services and events teams and provides vision and strategy to support the ongoing success of the Iowa credit union movement. In addition to this role, Jaimie provides strategic oversight and leadership to the Iowa Credit Union Foundation. Jaimie has dedicated her career to championing the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”.

Prior to this role, Jaimie served as the Director of Culture and Community Impact for Affiliates Management Company (AMC), the holding company of the Iowa Credit Union League, and worked in the philanthropic sector where she led community development and fundraising for charitable organizations. Jaimie is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa where she received her BA in Political Science and Public Policy and Drake University where she completed her Master of Public Administration. Jaimie is a 2014 graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute CLP Program, was recognized in 2015 by the Business Record as a top Forty under 40 in Iowa and is a 2016/2017 finalist for the Des Moines YP of the Year award.
 Michelle Barker, General Counsel
Michelle Barker PhotoMichelle Barker is the general counsel of Affiliates Management Company (AMC), where she provides company-wide contract management, human resource legal support, intellectual property strategies, and manages other legal and regulatory risk mitigation activities. Prior to joining AMC, Michelle was Assistant Vice President and Senior Counsel of Lincoln Financial Group where she worked for the past four years. Previously, she was VP and General Counsel of American Enterprise Group/American Republic Insurance, a diversified mutual insurance company based in Des Moines, where she worked in various leadership positions within their legal team over eight years. Prior to her time at American Republic, Michelle spent eight years as an attorney/partner at a small private practice in Des Moines. She holds her Juris Doctorate with distinction and BA from the University of Iowa.
 Ashley Vanderheiden, Vice President of Administration
Ashley VanderheidenAshley Vanderheiden serves as the Vice President of Administration for the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL) and Affiliates Management Company (AMC). In this role, she supports the ICUL CEO, manages governance matters for ICUL and the AMC family of companies, and oversees the AMC administrative team. Ashley joined AMC in 2015 and served in a variety of roles within the legal department. Previously, she worked at a financial institution for four years where she started as a teller and evolved to a branch manager. Ashley graduated from Simpson College with her Bachelor’s Degree and was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame for Women’s Soccer.
 Jessica Maldonado, Director of Public Affairs, Media Contact
Jessica Maldonado photoJessica Maldonado is the Director of Public Affairs for PolicyWorks and represents ICUL for public affairs, public relations, event management, grassroots communication, advocacy tools, digital strategy and more.  Prior to joining the ICUL/PolicyWorks team, Jessica spent nine years at the Greater Des Moines Partnership where she managed legislative events, public policy projects, advocacy issues, workforce development initiatives, the Young Professionals Connection, and various other projects that strengthen the business climate and quality of life in Central Iowa.

Jessica is a graduate of Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, with a BA in Communication–Journalism and a minor in Spanish. She is a Des Moines Business Record "Forty Under 40" honoree, a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute, a board member for the Clive Chamber of Commerce and serves on Variety Iowa's Polo on the Green committee.  
 Jodi Allen, Member Services Manager
Jodi Allen photoJodi Allen is Member Services Manager for the Iowa Credit Union League and provides support to member credit unions through member development opportunities and outreach.  Supporting credit unions to drive growth and success is central to Jodi’s work.  Jodi is a graduate of Iowa State University and has been in the financial services industry since 2006.  In 2008, Jodi started her career at a local credit union and has not looked back.  She is passionate about the credit union movement and about helping others grow and develop in their career. 
 Caitlyn Frohmader, Senior Education Events Manager

Caitlyn Frohmader is the Senior Education Events Manager at the Iowa Credit Union League, where she supports the success of Iowa's credit unions by designing and delivering high-impact educational and association events. In her role, she also works closely with credit union vendor partners to connect their solutions and services with Iowa credit unions.

Caitlyn’s credit union career began in 2006 at a small credit union in Wisconsin, and she’s since held roles at TruStage (formerly CUNA Mutual Group) and America’s Credit Unions (formerly CUNA). After relocating to Iowa in 2019, Caitlyn continued to grow her passion and expertise with ITA Group and GreenState Credit Union.

She currently serves on the Iowa Society of Association Executives Board and is a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE). 

 Brittany Freeman, Member Services Consultant

Brittany FreemanBrittany Freeman is the Member Services Consultant for the Iowa Credit Union League. In this role, Brittany collaborates with member credit unions to aid in member development and leadership opportunities. Working alongside credit unions and helping them grow and prosper is key to Brittany’s work.

Brittany is a graduate of Drake University and started her career in the non-profit sector, gaining a unique perspective on the everyday challenges that Iowans face. Most recently, she worked for PolicyWorks where she helped strengthen grassroots advocacy efforts and political action fundraising for Iowa credit unions. Since joining the credit union industry, Brittany has been a champion of the credit union difference and advancing the financial well-being of Iowans.

 Kolby McAninch, Senior Marketing Speicalist

Kolby Sinclair HeadshotKolby McAninch serves as Senior Marketing Specialist for the Iowa Credit Union League (ICUL) and Affiliates Management Company (AMC), where she leads strategic marketing and communication initiatives that advance ICUL membership, the AMC family of companies and the Iowa Credit Union Foundation. She executes integrated campaigns and flagship event marketing while shaping strategy and guiding cross-functional collaboration to elevate organizational visibility and engagement.

 

Since joining ICUL and AMC in 2018, Kolby has progressed through multiple marketing roles, consistently expanding her scope and influence across programs and business units. She holds a BA in Interactive Digital Media with a minor in Communications from Northwest Missouri State University.
