Community 1st Credit Union garners 6th straight
Des Moines Register “Top Workplace” Award
OTTUMWA, IA –Community 1st Credit Union received its sixth straight Des Moines Register “Top Workplace” award. The newspaper recognized 130 Iowa companies and organizations for the 2021 honor on September 12.
C1st was 6th on the list of midsized-company employers, which is an all-time high for the Credit Union. C1st currently has over 240 employees and 18 branch locations. With two more opening October 1st.
The employer honor is based on results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a research firm specializing in organizational health and workplace environment.
“We are proud to be named a Top Workplace in Iowa for the sixth year in a row,” said C1st President and CEO Greg Hanshaw. “Being 6th out of 47 businesses is an additional honor and an all-time high for C1st! The results show we continue to have something truly special happening here. Even in unprecedented times, our employees embraced the challenge and continued to be a strong and empowered team.”
Several aspects of workplace culture were measured including alignment, execution and connection. WorkplaceDynamics first published the list in 2006.
“The most successful companies are the ones that employees believe in,” reads a quote from the WorkplaceDynamics website.
The credit union has branches in Albia, Bloomfield, Cedar Rapids, Centerville, Chariton, Fairfield, Grinnell, Indianola, Knoxville, Mount Pleasant, Osceola, Oskaloosa, Ottumwa, Pella and Washington. With the addition of Atlantic and Creston opening October 1.
