C1st Foundation Awards Quarterly Grants Totaling $10,000
OTTUMWA, IA – Quarterly C1st Foundation grants totaling $10,000 were awarded this month to community projects in Fairfield and Pella.
The non-profit awards included a $5,000 donation to Fairfield Area Habitat for Humanity to help finance a roof and decking on a new HFH home build in Fairfield. The Pella-based 818 Forward With Faith organization received $5,000 to help construct a family-style home to give disabled adults opportunity to be neighbors, share experiences and relationships.
Community 1st Credit Union organized the foundation effort in December, 2016 and made the first quarterly check presentations in May, 2019.
Grant submission guidelines and forms are available at c1stcu.com/community/c1st-foundation/. The project awards are made possible by grants from the C1st Credit Union Impact Giving Fund of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation.
Grants align with the credit union’s charitable giving mission statement including projects based in financial literacy/education, mental wellness and suicide prevention, and community betterment. C1st member and/or employee involvement is important.
