First Federal Credit Union Announces Payday Piggy Community Giveaway
First Federal Credit Union is showing its community pride by handing out more than $1,500 in cash on Monday, October 14th through its Payday Piggy program. First Federal employees will randomly place more than 60 piggy banks, or ”piggys” with $25 cash throughout Linn County. The piggys will be placed in plain view in public places and businesses where they can be claimed by anyone.
According to Chuck Lampe, Senior Vice President, “Payday piggys are just another way we are giving back to the community. We hope the $25 will brighten someone’s day, or maybe even encourage someone to pay it forward to another person or organization who needs the $25”.
Piggys will be placed by employees on the morning of October 14th in locations the employees will choose. Anyone in the community who finds a piggy can keep the $25 – there are no requirements to keeping the piggy. To know a piggy has found a home, finders of the piggy are asked to post on social media using the hashtag #ffcupaydaypiggy. For every piggy that is posted on social media, a $25 contribution will be made to the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) to help fight food deficiency in Linn County.
“Our goal is to simply make someone’s day a little different, a little special”, Lampe said. “We have been a part of Cedar Rapids for 93 years and we are always looking for ways to thank the community for their support. We hope Payday Piggy is something that will be a fun and a rewarding way to thank our community”.
