Vice President of Lending

Reports to:  Jordan Hensley, CEO/President

Role:  The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our lending operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our members.

Responsibilities:

  • Lending Strategy & Planning:  Develop and implement comprehensive lending strategies aligned with the credit union’s goals and objectives.  Analyze market trends and competition to identify growth opportunities.  Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to overall organizational strategy.
  • Portfolio Management:  Manage and optimize the credit union’s loan portfolio, ensuring a healthy balance between risk and reward.   Implement sound underwriting practices and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.  Monitor key performance indicators to assess portfolio performance and identify areas of improvement.
  • Team Leadership:  Lead and inspire a high-performing lending team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.  Provide guidance and mentorship to lending staff, promoting professional development and growth.
  • Member Relations:  Cultivate strong relationships with members, ensuring a deep understanding of their financial needs.  Implement member-focused lending programs and initiatives to enhance member satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:  Stay abreast of the industry regulations and ensure lending practices adhere to all relevant laws and guidelines.  Develop and maintain effective risk management policies and procedures to safeguard the credit union’s interests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in lending operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of lending products, underwriting principles, and regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record of strategic planning, portfolio management, and achieving lending targets
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management
