Chief Executive Officer

The Position:

The Chief Executive Officer will lead, oversee, and manage all operations within the credit union, aligning them with the organization's strategic goals, policies, and the directives set forth by the board of directors. Your primary responsibility will be to safeguard financial stability while ensuring exceptional member satisfaction, in the best interest of our members, employees, and the credit union as a whole. Your role will encompass providing strategic guidance, fostering a visionary approach, and exercising effective leadership and management across all aspects of our organization.

Position Requirements:

  • Direct all credit union operations, which include planning and implementing programs, policies and procedures.
  •  Individually and/or through assistants, provide strategic and/or administrative direction and management in all credit union functions to include: accounting, ALM, CECL, business
  • Development, compliance, finance, human resources, investments, lending, marketing, facility management, operations, retail services, risk management and security.
  • Supervise a budget for the credit union that is consistent with the overall strategic plan.
  • Ensure that the credit union is in compliance with the federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other State and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct management meetings on a regular basis to insure the distribution of information, exchange of idea, resolution of problems and discussion of trends. Ensure that information is being communicated throughout the credit union among the staff.
  • Recruit and select quality applicants for management vacancies, ensuring that the credit union is adequately staffed with competent employees. Also evaluate the job performance of credit union management to ensure quality service to members.
  • Provide direction to the Board on compensation. Plan and recommend an appropriate wage and salary structure for management and staff. Plan and oversee the employees benefits program.
  • Conduct business development activities to promote growth and development of the credit union.
  • Build positive relationships within the field of membership and the communities.
  • Manage security and safety for the credit union, with the responsibility to analyze security and safety policies and procedures. Provide training to all staff to ensure safety.

Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field of study preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and/or training. 
  • Minimum 7 years' related, demonstrated experience creating business development programs, policies, and standards to ensure the ability to exceed member expectations and help members reach their full economic potential. Financial industry experience is preferred.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with ability to inspire and successfully manage a diverse group of professionals working in multiple locations.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with ability to effectively communicate to senior leaders and board members, peers and supporting staff.
  • Capable of undertaking tasks broad in nature, requiring ingenuity and originality
  • Ability to operate independently, and exercise significant latitude for independent judgement, discretion, and action.
  • Leadership skills to lead branch to achieve Credit Union directives and to develop staff to their fullest potential.
