Branch Operations Manager
ROLE
To assist and help coordinate a broad range of activities within the branches and the member service department toward achieving the credit union's objectives, in accordance with the credit union’s established policies and procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Assist with hiring, reviewing, scheduling, training, and monitoring the work of direct reports, including but not limited to performing branch audits. Reviews and approves, denies, or modifies department recommendations from subordinates.
- Assists with the departments for which responsible, in accordance with credit union policy and objectives. Ensures availability of competent, qualified personnel for key positions within the credit union.
- Assists the Chief Operating and Finance Officer in preparing short-term and long-range plans, developing key objectives ensuring they are met.
- Maintains a professional relationship with employees, members, and vendors, assisting in the communication throughout.
- Formulates and recommends additions and changes to the credit union policies and procedures to improve our member service and the credit union overall.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
Operations: Assists in the day-to-day operations of the branch and member service area. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Follows and supports all compliance rules, regulations and policies at the state and federal levels, as well as all Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Adheres to safety and security programs designed to minimize loss relating to fraud and robbery. Follows and contributes to effective Credit Union security by ensuring that negotiable, member information and computer systems are secure at all times.
Service: Accurately and effectively addresses service needs and/or issues. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Appropriately addresses and resolves member requests/issues. Escalates issues outside of authority level.
- Follows established quality control practices to ensure error-free work. Reviews work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance to regulations.
- Educates members on use of Credit Union convenience products including online banking, mobile banking, ATMs, and telephone banking.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- To maintain a highly qualified and sufficient staff.
- To insure the branch and member service department follows credit union policies and procedures and meets all deadlines.
- To make a significant contribution toward meeting the credit union's operational and financial goals and objectives.
- To keep direct supervisor(s) informed regarding key operating issues.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
A college degree.
EXPERIENCE:
Two years to five years of similar or related experience is preferred.
SKILLS:
Provide quality service to internal and external relations. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Ten key calculator and computer keyboard skills. Accurate with numbers and names. Ability to communicate effectively.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basic computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Simple math and cash counting.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet, to moderately noisy, where automated equipment is in operation. It is a non-smoking environment.
