First Federal Credit Union Communicates Coronavirus Response
First Federal Credit Union has announced measures it has and will be taken to ensure its members have safe, healthy access to its products and services. In an email to First Federal members, CEO Tom Chalstrom stated, “As concerns with the coronavirus continue to escalate, I wanted to provide information that will allow you (members) to understand the actions that we are currently taking to ensure that you continue to have consistent access to our services. Of the highest importancewe want each of our members to feel safe when using our offices or meeting with our employees”.
The steps specifically being take as communicated to First Federal members include:
- Cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning (desktop, work surfaces, ITMs) frequently throughout the day
- Practicing healthy social habits (i.e. eliminating handshakes, minimizing person-to-person contact)
- Employee actions including using only assigned equipment, taking advantage of HR policies for illness and possible work-at-home options
- Providing assistance to members that may be experiencing financial stress due to extended work leave or other virus-related issues.
- Constantly monitoring the situation to assess the ongoing and changing needs of members.
Chalstrom also noted that there are ways to access products and services via the website and mobile application for those members that may want to stay away from public places.
