Beastrom named C1st Chief Strategy and Risk Officer
Ottumwa—Community 1st Credit Union is pleased to announce Melissa Beastrom has been named Chief Strategy and Risk Officer.
Beastrom was most recently C1st senior vice-president strategic initiatives after directing branch operations and managing a region of retail branches. She has been based at C1st’s Cedar Rapids branch for eight years.
“Melissa will have the added responsibilities of directing market expansion and the C1st Foundation,” said C1st president and CEO Greg Hanshaw. “Her extensive financial background is invaluable in guiding our efforts in these areas.”
She retains oversight of project management, the marketing department, REM and strategic planning.
Beastrom has completed Credit Union Enterprise Risk Management Expert certification and has a masters’ certificate in project management.
The Cedar Rapids resident and Iowa native has been in the banking industry since 1991. Her banking career started on the East Coast and was followed by a move to Milwaukee before coming back to Iowa in 2008.
