Dupaco Members on Track to Share in Reward for Improved Credit
DUBUQUE, Iowa—Participating Dupaco Community Credit Union members who improve or maintain their credit are on track to share in extra cash dividends as part of their credit union’s annual Thank Use campaign.
As a benefit, Dupaco provides all members with real-time access to personalized credit scores and reports through Bright Track, which can be accessed in the credit union’s online and mobile banking.
If at least 83.3 percent of participating Bright Track-enrolled Dupaco members improve or maintain their credit scores when the Thank Use campaign ends Sept. 30, each eligible member will receive an additional $10. This is in addition to the other Thank Use payout categories:
- Savings balances can earn up to $75.
- Interest paid on loans can earn up to $150.
- Debit and credit card purchases can earn 5 cents per purchase transaction.
- Electronic service usage can earn up to $15.
- Dupaco Insurance Services and/or Dupaco Financial Services usage can earn up to $25.
An active checking account is required to be eligible for Thank Use dividends. It’s deemed active when a member has direct deposit and at least five transactions during a 90-day period. If a member doesn’t have direct deposit, 10 transactions are required during a 90-day period. The campaign began January 1, 2018.
During the last two years, Dupaco has shared more than $6 million in bonus Thank Use dividends with participating members. This year’s dividend—which will be paid out on International Credit Union Day on Oct. 18—is expected to exceed $3 million.
The credit union has provided free one-on-one Credit History Lessons for nearly a dozen years and, in 2016, began offering Bright Track credit report and credit score monitoring as a free member benefit, said Dupaco Chief Marketing Officer David Klavitter. Tying members’ credit score health into the Thank Use initiative highlights these valuable services.
“Dupaco’s mission is to improve each member’s economic and social well-being,” Klavitter said. “This year’s Thank Use group goal is an added incentive for members to know and understand their credit score. When members know better, they do better.”
