Iowa Credit Union Convention Connects Credit Union Leaders from Across the State
Thank you to all who were able to join us for our 87th annual Iowa Credit Union Convention! The event allowed credit union leaders from across the state to network and connect, listen to educational sessions and recognize credit union rockstars.

Congressional Update: Much Action of Interest to Credit Unions
It was a busy first couple of weeks in Congress after Members returned from the Labor Day Weekend. For credit unions, the first piece of business centered around an amendment to H.R. 3354 (one of the budget bills moving through the House). H.R. 3354 contained language that would put the NCUA, OCC and FDIC all under the appropriations process. Read more.

Join us for the Collections and Bankruptcy Update on Oct. 17 - 18 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Iowa Credit Union League. Gain crucial advice on bankruptcy rights and federal laws from Attorney David Reed of Reed & Jolly, PLLC, and learn how to better understand and identify stalls, work with members who are late and how to negotiate payment plans from The Stark Collection Agency. Attorney Brooke Trent of Trent Law Firm, PLLC will also offer her legal expertise on state laws surrounding collection efforts and provide answers to legal questions. RSVP for the Small Credit Union Roundtable on Oct. 4
Join us for the Small Credit Union Roundtable on Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Iowa Credit Union League office. This roundtable is geared towards credit unions with $35 million or less in assets. The agenda and discussion topics are generated by the participants. During this roundtable, Lorraine Groves (former credit union manager) will share her robbery experience and what she's learned about the legal process along the way. There is no cost to attend and lunch will be provided courtesy of the Iowa Credit Union League. RSVP today!

Join us for the IRA Workshops: Essentials and Advanced on Nov. 1 - 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Iowa Credit Union League office. Build your IRA knowledge and provide top-notch service to your members.
  • IRA Essentials Workshop (Nov. 1) - Provides a solid foundation of IRA knowledge and how to apply information to job-related situations. 
  • Advanced IRA Workshop (Nov. 2) - Builds on basic IRA knowledge to help address some of the more complex IRA issues.
