ICUL News & Updates: Call to Action - Urge Support on Skip a Pay Legislation
April 13, 2017
Advocacy Call to Action on Skip a Pay Legislation
Credit union priority legislation - Senate File 503 (Skip a Pay) - passed the Iowa Senate yesterday with a bipartisan 49-0 vote. It will now head to the Iowa House where more grassroots advocacy is needed to urge them to adopt the Senate version. With the end of the session near, this will begin to move quickly and it could be up for a vote sometime early next week. All credit union employees, board members and members are being called to action to contact your Representatives and urge them to support the Senate version of this priority legislation. You can do this by visiting the action center and entering your address. A message has already been drafted that you can send as is, or you can edit the message. Please use your home address in the e-mail template, so the legislator knows that you live in his or her district. Please share the call to action broadly with everyone in your credit union's network. To stay up-to-date with this legislation, choose "Email Opt-in" when taking action, or sign-up to receive emails from the advocacy list at www.IowaCreditUnions.com/StrongerTogether.
