Small Credit Union Grant Applications Due Friday, Dec. 16
Now through Friday, Dec. 16, the Iowa Credit Union Foundation will be accepting applications for the Small Credit Union Grant made possible by Veridian Credit Union. Eligible credit unions are $35 million in assets or below and were not funded in prior year.

This is a great opportunity to attend the annual Legislative and Regulatory Issues Conference on
February 14-15 in Des Moines, or apply for funding for credit union technology needs, planning and consultation services.

Advocacy Training: Credit Union Champions on Friday, Jan. 13
Are you passionate about credit unions? Would you like to learn how to effectively advocate for the support of the credit union industry? Then join us on Friday, Jan. 13, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. for the Credit Union Champion Advocacy Training. This free training is designated to equip credit union employees with tools and resources to be advocacy "champions" at their credit union. Attendees will walk away with a strong understanding of the political issues facing our industry and how to directly advocate with elected officials. There is no cost to attend and lunch will be provided courtesy of ICUL's Member Engagement Plan. Register today, space is limited!

Take the Iowa Consumer Survey by Dec. 30 for a Chance to Win a Gift Card

Register for the Legislative and Regulatory Issues Conference Feb. 14-15
ICUL's annual Legislative and Regulatory Issues Conference will be held Feb. 14-15, at Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in downtown Des Moines. Credit union representatives from across Iowa are invited to attend the conference to learn more about the legislative and regulatory issues affecting the credit union industry.
Each year, the conference covers the most pressing credit union topics and features remarks from federal and state leaders.
  • Day 1: Legislative. The legislative day of the conference is on Tuesday, Feb. 14, and will feature remarks from state and federal leaders.
  • The Legislative Reception will immediately follow day one of the conference.
  • Day 2: Regulatory. The regulatory day of the conference is Wednesday, Feb. 15, and typically includes updates from the Iowa Division of Credit Unions and NCUA, as well as regulatory compliance experts.
Single day pricing and small credit union discounts are available. Small credit unions can also apply for an ICUF grant to cover registration costs. Save the dates or register now!

To ensure continued access, please use Windows 7 or a later version operating system. Small credit unions can also apply for an ICUF grant to cover update costs.

Applying for Community Development Financial Institution Certification has Become Easier
Low-income credit unions in Iowa who are eligible to be certified as Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) may be able to take advantage of a new streamlined application processCDFI certification is determined by the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, a division of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The program gives certified credit unions more tools to further local economic development. A CDFI-certified credit union becomes eligible to apply for multiple programs offered by the CDFI Fund, including direct funding through awards or grants. Learn more
