Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing mid-to-large scale, complex credit union projects to a successful completion. The position communicates project objectives, determines if key milestones are met, compiles project documentation, ensures resources are properly allocated and keeps open lines of communication with Executive Team. As an independent objective participant, the Senior Project Manager employs project management methodology for credit union wide initiatives.


  • Manage multiple mid-to-large scale credit union projects with a strong technical ability and understanding of various systems.
  • Responsible for working with managers and stakeholders to move projects to a successful completion in line with agreed timelines.
  • Responsible for coordinating other credit union projects as identified by the Manager.
  • Ensure project objectives are clearly stated throughout all phases of the project. Support the project lead in developing timelines and milestones.
  • Evaluate projects to determine if key milestones are met and if project should continue moving forward. Involve executive leadership as needed and communicate updates at a strategic level.
  • Compile project documentation for project teams. Communicate updates to all project stakeholders through status reports and presentations.  Consistently uses project folder structure and project form and plan templates defined within the PMO.
  • Serve as an independent objective participant with project teams. Lead by asking questions to uncover needs and gain clarification.
  • Effectively interpret and apply project management methodology and standards.
  • Ensure projects are on track for timelines, quality, cost, efficiency and communication. Take appropriate action as needed to meet established objectives and deadlines.
  • Utilize strong leadership skills to positively influence others and manage change through project work.
  • Develop positive working relationships to bring large, diverse teams together to implement projects.
  • Communicate clearly with all levels including Executives and Project Sponsors.
  • Determine the overall impact of issue being discussed and the consequences not just to the project at hand but other projects and systems.
  • Confirm project resources are properly allocated for the project. Communicate any obstacles accordingly. Insure project testing is completed with appropriate document.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move items over 10 pounds.
  • Remain sedentary (seated) for extended periods of time.


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.


Limited travel expected.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business management or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience of 8+ years.
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience in project management or related field resulting in high technical aptitude and strong understanding of system integration.
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing Project Management software.


  • PMP Certification
  • Experience working in a financial institution
