Database Administrator – Community 1st Credit Union - Ottumwa, IA (Posted May 8, 2009)
Responsible for managing database systems, making sure the systems operate efficiently, and ensuring the data is available by maximizing database uptime. Also, ensuring that the data is backed up regularly, stored effectively, and that the data is secure from unauthorized access. A four year degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS) is preferred. Knowledge of credit union functions is also important, as is the ability to communicate with other employees in the company in both technical and non-technical roles.

The Cards Services team is looking for a dynamic team player with cards background. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, great technology skills, and the willingness to take the initiative.
*Respond to incoming calls and written correspondence from clients regarding application problems and determine/recommend possible solutions by reviewing internal procedures and documentation
*Change or modify sensitive system settings with a high degree of accuracy
*Research and coordinate testing and resolution of errors and problems on card projects
*Develop procedures for internal processes and coordinate implementation of these procedures
*Provides excellent customer support, keeps informed on new products, product enhancements, system changes and compliance issues
Requirements
* Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
* PC knowledge, especially Microsoft office experience.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities required.
* Ability to balance multiple tasks and changing priorities to meet client expectations.
* Self Motivated, minimal supervision required and performance accuracy.
* Excellent customer service skills required.
* 3-5 years payment cards or Merchant service knowledge and experience preferred.
* One year First Data systems experience preferred.
